Wooden dartboards are one of the most iconic items in the dart collector’s collection. Through the years there have been hundreds of different styles, shapes, designs and sizes. Some boards were design with logos depicting certain historical events like World Wars.
Other from famous baseball and football teams. There were wooden dartboards designed for specific dart games such as the Golf Darts Game, Baseball and even bowling.
Some of the earliest dartboards only had a single row of numbers instead of the number system that today’s boards have. This style of board made the game of darts a lot simpler, but bearing in mind that the darts used at that time wasn’t that advanced makes this simple style of numbering make a lot more sense.
If you look at the different types of wooden dartboards Mark Brindza has hanging on his walls, which is truly more like a museum than a collector, you will see that there is more different designs and styles available than you could ever imagine and he doesn’t even have everything.
If you compare some of todays dartboards to these classic wooden dartboards they just don't seem to have that flair any more, as if they have just become neutral. Maybe the vintage look is the better one when it comes to dartboards.
